When the motor isn't derating does it have good power? How sure are you that your turbo's aren't sucking the oil out? I have seen plenty of failed turbos on these motors, and a whole lot of dual stage setups that are pushing oil. If your motor is using oil you may have the beginning stages of this issue. When you remove the cylinder head you can take your hand and move the piston back in forth in the bore itself. You know what I have seen a lot with the motors from my two buddies who still work at navistar, that cylinder bore will enlarge. Not many international dealers in the world are going to invest the tech time and complete a 0-60 snap shot with servicemaxx to see what is going on. International gave up on it and no longer makes it. Out of all the Maxxforce family engines, we replace this one, by far, more than any other model. Now, I have to be absolutely honest, this engine is complete garbage. Did they do any of this? From this snap shot you can see if the derate is due to low boost, or high exhaust restriction, fuel pressure issues or intakes temps and so on.

Any time there is a performance problem, the dealer should be taking the truck for a road test to duplicate the complaint and recording a 0-60 snapshot with a computer to see what is going on. 100-1 is low oil pressure, 2630 is charge air cooler undercooler, or too hot of air in intake manifold.
